Fw: [permaculturehudsonvalley] Permaculture fun this weekend April 21st-22nd near High Falls NY!

One idea I have promoted for Urban Permaculture has been to partner with others outside the city. Below, you will find one such opportunity. Kevin is an occasional resident of Brooklyn, so perhaps the Brooklyn contingent might consider a partnership with him. In my vision for achieving this, I'm imagining a biodiesel mini-bus (15 passengers or less model to avoid special licensing) converted to transport both CSA shares and people between the rural farm and an urban neighborhood. Costs for maintaining the bus could be partially off-set with accommodations at the farm to make a hot summer day in the city into a cool country excursion (bus faire is currently $40 per direction to near Kevin, but not at the farm; Bed & Breakfasts cost $100 or more). With a pool of waste oil collection, a partnership would be easily made.

Who would be interested in an ?berCSA?

Subject: [permaculturehudsonvalley] Permaculture fun this weekend April 21st-22nd near High Falls NY!

Hi all,

Regeneration CSA is a new Permaculture based community farm project,
in Ulster County near the town of High Falls, just over the Ridge
from New Paltz NY. (brought to you by some of the same folks known
and loved so well at Rattlesnake Mountain!)

We are having the first of our work/play gatherings of the season
this weekend; Saturday and Sunday April 21st and 22nd and you are
invited!

We are starting out on a new piece of land (again), so there is lot's
to do getting it ready for growing. Permaculture wise we have
thousands of square feet of sheet mulch beds to get in place, and
that always goes better with friends! More prosaically, we have
lot's of fence to set up to keep the critters out, and paths to make,
and much much more....

When folks get tired of working, there is an enormous lovely
protected area of land to ramble in (we are adjacent to the Mohonk
Preserve) and fun things to explore.

Come for the day, the afternoon, of the weekend! Work, food, drink,
merriment, bonfires, Permaculture skills galore!

Give us a call[masked] and rsvp, or send us an email at:

Spring is on the Way! Really!

love,
Sarah and Kevin

A brand new CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Farm is coming to
  the High Falls Area!

  REGENERATION CSA at Outback Farm

81 Clove Valley Rd in High Falls

(about 3 miles from High falls, and Mohonk Mt House)

We are looking forward to be starting a new season, growing food in
  this friendly and supportive community!

All of our produce is organically grown using Permaculture based
methods, respecting and enhancing the local biodiversity. We grow
without chemicals, eliminating most fossil fuel inputs as well.
Sustainability is as important to us as vegetable production, and we
work towards both with our methods.

This, our first season in the area, we are offering just 30 shares.
Full non-working shares are just 650$. Working shares are 450$. Shares
are also available at a sliding scale for those who need it, so just
let us know and don't hesitate to call.

Pick-up is at the farm starting June 2nd (maybe earlier) and runs
thru the end of October.

Contact us for more information: [address removed]

Or call Sarah or Kevin at[masked]
