I am looking forward to this season also!  Hui Chin and Tristan will be representing the Smith family this year.  I am in Korea for the year so I will miss out on the group.  I will be there in Spirit though!:)  Go Pats!

Hey Everyone,
We are still a few months away from pre-season football, but I thought I'd take a few minutes to update everyone. First of all, we now have 100 members here on our Meetup group. I'm not sure how many people will be actively coming to games this year, but I plan to weed out the inactive members (i.e. people who sign up and are never heard from again) once the season starts.

If you've been following the Pat's this off season then you know today is a big day. Brady is on the field today for the first full team OTA (off season training activities). It's closed to the media until Thursday at which point I'm sure every major sports news outlet will have coverage. The Pat's a had a pretty good draft this year with Patrick Chung (S) being our big pick. The other big news was trading Cassel and Vrabel to Kansas City where Scott Pioli is now the GM along with a few defections (Izzo, Paxton, Gaffney all moved on).

We also had some key veteran free agent signings: Greg Lewis (WR), Joey Galloway (WR), Leigh Bodden (DB), Fred Taylor (RB), and Alex Smith (TE). We very recently also learned that last year, Laurence Maroney tried playing with a broken bone in his shoulder. This hopefully explains why he was less than productive...so much so that many people though he was a bust. Hopefully this will be his break out year.

All in all, I am VERY excited for the season to start. Assuming Brady stay's healthy, this offense, at least on paper, is VERY scary. With two more years in system for Moss and Welker and upgrades over Gaffney and Stalworth at WR, I think we potentially could have another record setting year. The only real gaps we have are depth at QB -- Kevin O'Connell is the #2 right now and who will play LB in place of Vrabel.

In the meantime, check out Si.com for Peter King's exclusive interview with Tom Brady (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/05/26/tom.brady/index.html).
