Talk about Esperanto by Anna Löwenstein!

Details

The World's Easiest Language.

Esperanto is an international language created towards the end of the 19th century, and still very much alive over 130 years later. It was created as a neutral language, not linked to any one country, so that people everywhere could communicate on a basis of equality. It is totally regular and extremely easy to learn.

Anna Lowenstein taught herself Esperanto at the age of 13 from a library book. Ever since then she has been living, working, writing and travelling in Esperanto. Esperanto speakers enjoy meetings, seminars and conferences all over the world, exchange thoughts over the Internet, and listen to Esperanto radio stations. Esperanto has an extensive literature, both original and translated, and there are literally hundreds of local, national and international Esperanto magazines

For Anna, Esperanto is also the language of love. She met her Italian husband at an Esperanto conference, and they always speak Esperanto at home – and naturally their two sons speak it too!

Anna will talk about Esperanto at:

Barnsbury Housing Association, 89 Ronalds Road (just north of Highbury Fields)

Saturday 8th September at 2 p.m. (until about 3.30pm)

Cost: free!

Nearest station: Highbury and Islington.
