Kayaking in John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, 102601 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, Fl. . It will take at least an hour to drive to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park from Miami. Please be at the concessionaires building latest by 9:30 am. The tour will be 3 hours or less. It will be limited to 12 participants . We will meet in front of the concessionaires building where we will sign the rental paperwork. Park at Canon beach (first lot on left after paying at entrance kiosk). Then walk to the building closest to the water.

Entrance fee is $8/car plus $0.50/person. People will have to reserve their own kayaks online ($45/single for 4 hrs or less, $55.00 for a double kayak for 4 hrs or less) or bring their own kayak. Make the reservation for 10:00-2:00 (it takes a little time for paperwork, etc.). Rental kayaks are next to the wooden bridge, The launch for personal kayaks is across the marina (where we put in the last time). Janet will take that group over to unload and launch. To rent the kayak go to the John Pennekamp web site. Go to self-guilded ecotours. You can choose a single or double kayak (rent for 4 hours) and the time you want; 10:00-2:00pm on April 25th on Saturday. Bring water and snack (put in a water proof container or backpack you do not mind getting a little wet. We will go for lunch afterwards to Key Largo fisheries.
