Design Practice #12 Styles and guides

Szczegóły
After a long holiday break, Design Practice is back and ready to hit the ground running. Our guests for the first meetup will be Rob Mooney, who will tell us how to create useful design styleguides, and Ira Nezhynska, who will let us in on the secret of making your design stand out amongst the competition. Both talks will be in English.
More details below:
'Styleguides as Engineering Reference Tools'
A Styleguide needs to have an audience, just like any design. To be successful, you have to always view it from that lens. Is it useful for those that are meant to consume it? This talk will go over guidelines for creating living, usable Design Styleguides for engineering and design teams.
Bio: Rob Mooney is a
UI/UX Developer at Applause. Working on the Product team, he is focused on having coherent and usable UI and UX across products that are supported by global engineering teams.
'Opening people's hearts... and wallets: How to create emotional connection through visual design'
Iryna will:
- show how to catch people's attention when your product is not the only one in the category or when your competitors offer the same product features;
- share step by step process of how to align your product emotionally with your customers' mood by filling gaps in their own personalities.
Bio: Iryna Nezhynska is a Visual Designer with a strong focus on brand identities for digital products and lean branding for startups. She began with designing "look&feel" for financial and industrial companies, then switched to international retail brands and finally found herself creating multi-platform software - during the last two years she worked as a Senior Visual Designer in Warsaw-based software agency Upnext, taking care of visual identities for (mostly) fintech and proximity-based products.
We’re meeting in the Applause office on Zielna 37C, 11th floor.
