Event Postponed to Sunday, 11th January due to High Fire Danger.
****************************************************************************************************************************

Join us as we explore some of the historic gold-mining remnants in Warrandyte.

****** Please Note: Due to the current fire conditions in the state, all Parks Victoria Parks, including Pound Bend, are currently closed. Manningham Council closes roads around Pound Bend Reserve on days with extreme or catastrophic fire danger ratings. As Saturday is forecast as a High fire danger day, we expect the road to reopen. If the road is still closed in the morning, the alternative meeting spot will be next to the exercise station, under the bridge that crosses the Yarra River in Warrandyte, as shown in the event photo. We will continue to monitor the situation and can change the itinerary if needed. *******

10:00 am Pound Pend Carpark - meet near the Kayak/Canoe launch.
We will walk to the Pound Bend tunnel exit, then across to the entrance, and then continue a riverside walk.

11:30 am Whipstick Gully Road. Walk past several historic gold diggings, including the entrance to the Victory mine and the Fourth Hill Geraghty’s Tunnel (if not too hot on the day)

12:30 pm Lunch at the Warrandyte Hotel.

2:00 pm Yarra Riverside Walk; if you are lucky, you may spot a platypus.

4:00 pm Event Concludes
