🎤 18:05 - Mateusz Kopcinski - Build AI Agents on the Edge. Are we there yet?
Edge AI models are nothing new, but for a long time, their capabilities fell short of expectations. They could chat just fine, but often lost track of instructions or couldn't use tools properly. That perception still keeps a lot of developers from taking edge deployment seriously. Gemma 4 E2B and E4B change the picture. The smaller variant weighs just 2.5 GB and can process text, audio, images, and video while using tools and generating code — all on-device. In this talk I'll try to convince you that building AI agents for the edge is very much a valid option today.

Speaker's bio:
Mateusz leads the AI team at Software Mansion, where he and his team build react-native-executorch — an open-source library that brings on-device AI models to React Native apps via PyTorch's ExecuTorch runtime. He's focused on making edge AI a practical option for products and lowering the barrier to adoption, so more developers can ship AI features that run entirely on the user's device.

Speaker's bio: An ML Research Engineer and open-source creator behind mlx-vlm, mlx-lm and mlx-audio libraries with millions of downloads that let developers run multimodal AI models locally on Apple Silicon. He is one of the most prolific contributors to the MLX ecosystem, building the infrastructure that teams at LM Studio, LiquidAI, Hugging Face, and Baidu rely on to ship on-device AI without cloud dependency.

What if your website could simply tell an agent what it can do? This talk introduces WebMCP, a proposed web standard aiming to simplify how AI Agents are interacting with your website. Learn how to use structured tools to create a high-performance "handshake" between your site and the AI.

Speaker's bio: Kasper is a Senior Developer Relations on Google’s Chrome AI DevRel team, which enables web developers to build the next generation of experiences with AI. He has worked at Google for over a year, and has a passion for performance, future of the web and working with coding agents. Before joining Google Kasper spent ~10 years in Dynatrace building Log Monitoring solutions. Outside of work, he enjoys powerlifting.
