Join us for the inaugural event of the Lodz Open Source Meetup series - Lodz Open Source Meetup #1!

Thursday, 16th January 2020 we will be welcoming the Lodz open source community with two presentations, a Q&A session, giveaways and a socializing & networking afterparty to get to know your interests, projects and contributions to open source in high tech.

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about state-of-the-art open source technologies and sign up today.

Agenda:

  1. An introduction to state-of-the-art Deep Learning applications; Grzegorz Latosiński, Antmicro

Deep learning does not cease to amaze with its ability to solve various problems which seemed to be a tall order for computers not so long ago. Thanks to the increasing computational power and open-source approach to developing deep learning frameworks and applications, we can observe the emergence of newer and better algorithms to deal with well-known problems as well as algorithms for completely new and interesting tasks. This presentation will introduce you to the basic mechanisms of deep neural network algorithms and various state-of-the-art deep learning applications.

2. Linux on RISC-V; Karol Gugała, Antmicro

This presentation will cover new developments in Linux on RISC-V, the wildly successful open source ISA (instruction set architecture) and the implications of using a popular open source operating system on a free and open computer architecture adopted by major semiconductor and tech companies like Google, NVIDIA, NXP, Qualcomm, Microchip, Western Digital and others.

The talk will concern such issues as progress in 32-bit Linux, the RISC-V Getting Started Guide the collaboration between CHIPS Alliance and the RISC-V Foundation to curate high-quality open source RTL code relevant to the design of Open Source CPUs, RISC-V based SoCs, and complex peripherals for FPGAs and custom silicon.
