Szczegóły

Get ready for Wroclaw Open Source Meetup #9!

With the longer spring days slowly approaching, join the Wroclaw open source community on Friday, March 20th for an evening packed with open source high-tech goodness. Two technical presentations, a Q&A session, giveaways and of course a socializing & networking afterparty in Barbara till late.

Agenda:

  1. Public Money - Public Code and Data; guest presentation by Filip Drapejkowski, Senior Software Engineer

Taxpayers pay for all publicly owned software. Yet, its code is often kept secret from common citizens. This results in major security issues, waste, inefficiency, duplication, lack of trust, fraud and bad communication. Can governments really afford burning cash, solid work and sincere efforts that way? The same applies to anonymous medical data, that could be saving lives now, but is usually restricted - it's our responsibility to change it.

  1. Chiplet-based ASICs. How to encapsulate a RISC-V-driven processing system in a custom integrated circuit; Piotr Katarzyński, Hardware Engineer at Antmicro

The presentation gives a brief overview of the chiplet technology, which allows to place small off-the-shelf integrated circuits into a larger system enclosed in one package (SiP) to quickly produce low-cost custom chips that will leverage modern open source technologies.

The chiplet technology is evolving rapidly, shortening the design turnaround time and enabling rapid testing and integration. Based on a design-and-reuse approach, it is a perfect match for implementing open solutions.

As proof of this concept, we will present an open ISA RISC-V core running the open Zephyr RTOS in a physical chiplet-based integrated circuit by Antmicro.

Registration:

Registration will be at the entry based on the meetup attendee list. You will be asked to provide your name, surname and affiliation. You have to be an adult to attend. Upon entering the venue, you agree that you might be photographed/filmed.
