This is the first meeting of the Agentic Engineering Lab book club, and it runs differently from a talk — there's no lecture from me. Everyone turns up having watched the same thing, and we spend the hour actually arguing it out together.

For the first one we're taking Matt Pocock's conversation with Robert C. "Uncle Bob" Martin, Software Fundamentals in the Age of AI — an hour on which of the old disciplines still hold once agents are writing much of the code, and which ones quietly stop meaning what they used to. Watch it before Monday; that's the whole prep.

Then come with whatever it left you with — a point you pushed back on, something that made you rethink how you work, a place it collided with what you're shipping right now. The session is those reactions meeting in one room, not a set of slides.

How the hour runs:
- Come having watched the video (link on the Luma page).
- Bring one thing it sparked — an objection, a question, an example from your own work.
- We hold it to sixteen seats and a single hour, small enough that everyone actually gets to talk.

Who it's for: engineers, tech leads and anyone building with AI in the loop who'd rather thrash the fundamentals out loud than read another hot take. No prep beyond the video, and you don't need a finished opinion ready — half the point is forming one in the room.

Format: 60-minute discussion, remote. Come prepared.
