Italian Conversation Club — The Village (Real Practice, Real Confidence)
**You’ve been living in Italy for months… maybe even years…**
**but you still don’t really *live* in Italian.**
You understand.
You try.
But when it’s time to speak, something holds you back.
Not enough practice.
Too much pressure.
Or simply… no space that feels safe enough.
I know this, because I’ve lived it.
Learning the local language is what finally made me feel at home.
That’s why I created this.
**Welcome to The Village — a space to *experience* Italian, not just learn it.**
This is for you if:
– you want to actually speak, not just listen
– you’re willing to make mistakes and grow from them
– you value connection, presence and a positive group energy
– you’re ready to step out of your comfort zone (gently, but consistently)
This is **not** a traditional class.
And it’s not for passive learners.
In The Village, we:
– practice real-life conversations
– use role play, games and embodied exercises
– support each other (no judgment, no pressure)
– build confidence session after session
The goal is simple:
to help you feel more at home in Italy — in your body, and in your voice.
I guide the space to make sure everyone speaks, feels included, and grows.
**Small group. Real connection. Consistent practice.**
If this resonates, contact me and I will share all details to attend:

Art & Photo Experience in Milan
**Paint & Be Seen 🎨 \| Art & Photo Experience in Milan**
This is not a workshop — it’s a creative portal
where people meet who are not afraid of themselves, their thoughts, or their beauty.
Open to both men and women.
But it’s not for everyone.
This is not about “painting something nice.”
It’s about stepping out of your usual image and seeing yourself without a filter.
A studio in Milan, near Gorla metro.
A real artist’s space — not polished, not staged.
High walls, antique frames, paint on the floor.
This is where art is created, not performed.
You sit in front of a canvas.
Wearing something that doesn’t hide you — natural tones, simple fabrics, a dress or a linen shirt without prints.
Something you don’t mind getting a little paint on.
Because neatness is control.
And here, we let go of it.
A glass of wine — to relax and release even deeper.
You don’t paint “beautifully.”
You paint honestly.
I know how to teach — but I won’t.
I don’t give templates.
I stay close, so you don’t escape yourself in the process.
And in that moment, the photographer is working.
He doesn’t create “pretty pictures.”
He captures truth.
A glance. A pause. The movement of your hand.
The moment of doubt.
The moment you let go and begin.
Light and shadow are shaped so you don’t pose —
you become part of the frame.
This is not just photography.
It’s a captured state.
👉 Take a look at the style of photos we create during this live experience —
this is not about posing, but about capturing real moments, atmosphere, and your natural presence.
We are not about perfection.
We are about what is real.
There are no “right” people here. Only real ones.
We stand for a life without masks.
For the courage to see your beauty — not through standards, but through feeling.
I speak Italian, English, Ukrainian, and Russian —
but here, the real language is color and sensation.
✨ What you receive:
— your own painting (30×40 cm, acrylic)
— professional black & white portraits
— natural group photos
— a creative video of the experience
— a glass of wine
Small group — up to 6 participants.
Personal attention.
💰 Price: €80 (all included)
Spots are limited.
And honestly — it’s not for everyone.

Studio Opening Night – The First Pour | Friday night craft experience 10.04
Step into the very first evening at Kookie’s LAB Studio and be part of its beginning.
This two-hour creative experience is designed as a relaxed Friday night ritual: slow down, get your hands messy, and shape something beautiful from start to finish.
Guided step by step, you will create two decorative pieces:
a small vase
an hexagon plate
You’ll design them yourself, choose colors and details, and bring both pieces home with you at the end of the workshop.
No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and the desire to create.
The atmosphere is intimate, welcoming, and intentionally unhurried: a space to experiment, connect, and enjoy the process as much as the result.
This is not just a workshop. It’s the first pour, the first shapes, the very first night of the studio.

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for April is "Water"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
Disc Tues / Choose Your Movie: THE CHRISTOPHERS vs NORMAL at the Gateway!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Choose Your Movie event to see your choice of two great new films! Option 1 (and the one I'll be seeing) is the top-reviewed comedy-drama, THE CHRISTOPHERS! The film is set in the art world and follows the estranged children of a former artist who hire a forger. It is directed by Steven Soderberg, stars Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel and has been earning rave reviews on the indie circuit. Option 2 is the latest action-thriller starring Bob Odenkirk, NORMAL! The film follows a temporary small-town sheriff who uncovers dark mysteries after a local bank robbery. Here are descriptions, trailers and our plan for this event:
THE CHRISTOPHERS: The children of a once famous artist hire a forger to complete some unfinished, long ago abandoned canvases so they'll have a better inheritance when he dies. It is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Ian McKellen, Michaela Coel, Jessica Gunning and James Corden. BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film is earning an excellent 97% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes where critics call it a “dynamic, emotional and surprising journey” and a “compelling chamber piece that works like intellectual comfort food.” Others call the film, an “incredibly funny, comedy drama with plot reversals that make it feel like it’s on the verge of a thriller!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H79-EqzmdwY&t=20s
NORMAL: This action-crime-thriller follows a man who comes to the sleepy town of Normal, Minnesota to serve as the temporary sheriff. But a bank robbery leads him to a criminal underground reaches throughout the entire town. The film is directed by Ben Wheatley and stars Bob Odenkirk, Henry Winkler and Lena Headey. The film comes from the same team that brought us Nobody and the John Wick series, so expect an over-the-top, action-filled thrill ride! TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rmm-lM33Qw0&t=19s
PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing of both films and will meet in the lobby area about 30 minutes before showtime. Once showtimes are announced, advance ticket purchase is advised (GFC website preferred)! Please list your movie of choice and seat number in the Comments section of this event. Showtimes and complete details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
PARKING: Close, convenient parking is available in the nearby garage (located between 9th and 11th, just off High St). Bring your ticket with you and have it validated at the theater and for $2, you’re covered for the night!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.
Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
