Spring Break Thursday Charleston SC Ravenel Bridge City Walk
Szczegóły
Stroll on sidewalks and across Ravenel Bridge on a dedicated walkway for spectacular views of Charleston and the waterfront, Mount Pleasant, and the ships at Patriots Point. The bridge crosses a marsh and the Cooper River.
Walking the bridge is like climbing a moderate hill. The walk is almost entirely on pavement. This walk is suitable for strollers, but not for wheelchairs.
Bring plenty of water and a protein snack. Dress for the weather; consider sunscreen. Due to the 25 mph (or higher) winds, hats are likely to be blown away unless securely tied to your head.
Tennis shoes should be fine. Some may want walking sticks (I plan to take two).
We will be piggybacking on this walk with the Asheville Amblers, Stryder, and perhaps others. Choose between a 6 KM/4 mile guided walk and a 12 KM/7 mile guided walk.
If you are able to register at the Hampton Inn—Historic District on Thursday morning at 9:00, please do so. Even if you can't register, come and walk with us anyway.
We will gather at the Mount Pleasant Visitors Center, 99 Harry M. Hallman Jr. Blvd., Mount Pleasant SC 20464. Step-off will be promptly at 2:00 p.m.
The group will be gathering to eat at Saltwater Cowboys, 130 Mill St., Mount Pleasant, promptly at 6:30. Let us know if you plan to join us for a Dutch Treat supper.
