At some point, every Kerbal engineer gets tired of manually throttling up and watching their rocket cartwheel into the ocean. In this talk, we'll use Kerbal Space Program, a beloved space flight simulator where failure is half the fun, as a playground for exploring two approaches to automation: the onboard scripting of kOS and the external control API of kRPC. Along the way, we'll discover what they can teach us about flight dynamics, control loops, and why sometimes the best debugging session involves a tiny green astronaut.
