Beginner Resin Printing
Mini Monsters & Resin Magic: A 2-Hour Adventure Step into the wonderfully weird world of resin printing, where gooey liquid becomes dazzling little creatures, trinkets, and treasures! In this 2-hour crash course, you’ll learn the alchemy of turning digital files into solid, shiny models you can hold, paint, and proudly display. We’ll cover all the essentials: 🧪 Mixing magic with safety – gloves on, goggles ready, no sipping the resin! ⚙️ File prep & supports – the digital Lego-blocks of making your model stand tall (and not faceplant mid-print). ☀️ Wash & cure rituals – because your mini needs its spa day in alcohol and UV light. 🎨 Quick paint enchantments – splash on some color and watch your creation come alive. By the end of class, you’ll walk away with a pint-sized masterpiece of your very own—maybe a fierce little beastie, maybe a tiny robot, maybe a trinket so odd it defies description. Whatever it is, it’ll be yours, born of resin, imagination, and just a little chaos. Perfect for: Makers, artists, gamers, or anyone who ever thought, “What if I could summon a mini-monster onto my desk?” Come with your computer ready to laugh, glue, paint, and leave with something no store could ever sell—because you made it!

America's Potluck
Let's celebrate the good and the bad of our country with a potluck! I will be reserving an outdoor pavilion with tables and restrooms. You can bring a dish, drinks, plates, or a craft!
Official info about America's Potlucks: 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the document that tied our nation together. The tradition of Sunday dinner invites us to slow down, serve others, and connect with one another. Through dialogue and a shared meal, we can promote our common bonds and honor the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
Be part of a historic, once-in-a-generation celebration uniting communities across the country.

Sweetwater Creek S.P. – 5 miles – Lithia Springs, GA – Moderate+
Sweetwater Creek State Park is a really beautiful park located West of Atlanta off of I-20 near Lithia Springs. With multiple terrains and some really sweet portions of the trails running along Sweetwater Creek it makes for a really sweet day of hiking.
We will hike the popular White and Red Trail Loop, which is 5 miles. This trail winds through some wooded areas, along a dirt and gravel road, and then hugs the creek for those really "sweet" water views I was alluding to earlier. While most of this trail is generally moderate, some portions along the creek itself can be quite challenging, so please be prepared by reading more at the Alltrails link below. This hike should take no more than 3 hours.
We will meet outside near the main visitor’s center. The best way to get there is to just follow the pin within the event invite using Google Maps and it should get you to the precise place we will meet. If you follow the address to the park, it will take you to the wrong location.
Parking is $10.00 per vehicle, unless of course you have the proper GA State Park pass. Fees can be paid online in advance, upon entry to the park, or by using the cash envelope kiosks in the parking lot.
We will start at 9:00 am. I do like to start events on time so please do not be late for the consideration of all attendees. Please allow a few extra minutes to find parking as this is a popular park and can get crowded. Pace will be 2.25-2.5 mph.
Below are some helpful links. Of course and as always, if you have any questions in advance please let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

The Calculi of Lambda-Conversion, presented by Nandu Shah
Alonzo Church’s *The Calculi of Lambda-Conversion* is one of the foundational works of computer science, suggesting that any computation can be expressed with just three primitives: variables, function definition, and function application. The ideas in this work have echoed through the modern world for nearly 80 years and continue to hide in plain sight. (Have you ever wondered why AWS calls its serverless functions *Lambdas*?) This talk is one part deep dive, one part memoir, and one part fireside chat with special guest Alonzo Church III, who will share stories about his grandfather and offer glimpses of the man behind the mathematics.

Books and Bites Book Club: Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell
We will read this book in June and Discuss in July
A Best Book of the Year: The Financial Times, Bloomberg, Chicago Tribune, and Detroit Free Pres
Malcolm Gladwell, host of the podcast Revisionist History and author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Outliers, offers a powerful examination of our interactions with strangers -- and why they often go wrong.
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true?
While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you'll hear the voices of people he interviewed--scientists, criminologists, military psychologists. Court transcripts are brought to life with re-enactments. You actually hear the contentious arrest of Sandra Bland by the side of the road in Texas. As Gladwell revisits the deceptions of Bernie Madoff, the trial of Amanda Knox, and the suicide of Sylvia Plath, you hear directly from many of the players in these real-life tragedies. There's even a theme song - Janelle Monae's "Hell You Talmbout."
Something is very wrong, Gladwell argues, with the tools and strategies we use to make sense of people we don't know. And because we don't know how to talk to strangers, we are inviting conflict and misunderstanding in ways that have a profound effect on our lives and our world.
