Architectours - To live and to know Porto

Hello everyone!

We’re back and at an unusual time, as this is a sunset walk as it is the most suitable to capture the romantic atmosphere of our tour! This time, we’re heading down to where Porto slows, softens… and quietly tells some of its best stories.
We’ll be wandering the Caminhos do Romântico, (Pathways of Romanticism) slipping through narrow lanes tucked between old estate houses — places that still feel just a little removed from the city around them. This is a Porto of gardens behind walls, shaded paths, and unexpected turns… where time doesn’t quite run at the same speed.
But there’s more beneath the surface.

Running alongside these quiet paths is another story — one of industry, ingenuity, and the business of the sea. In Massarelos, we’ll uncover how shipyards, workshops, and the people who worked them helped steer the course of Portuguese history in ways that still ripple today.
And just as we settle into this almost hidden world, we’ll lift our eyes to what’s coming next.

A new bridge is on the horizon — and with it, a transformation that will reshape this stretch of the riverfront for generations. We’ll take a moment to imagine what’s about to change… and what might remain.
Oh — and we’ll time it just right.

Because this is also where Porto quietly delivers one of its finest sunsets. No grandstands, no crowds — just light, river, and the city unfolding in front of you and we get to find one of the best and most secretive viewpoints for sunset
