Jewelry Metalworking: Beginner

Duration: 2 hours
Group Size: Up to 3 students
Certification: Grants access to the Jewelry Studio with membership or maker day pass.
Learn the foundations of metal jewelry fabrication—no experience needed. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll practice sawing, filing, hammering, and finishing metal to create a one-of-a-kind piece. You’ll leave the class with a piece of your handcrafted jewelry.
You’ll learn:- How to use a jeweler’s saw
- Metal piercing and filing techniques
- Hammering, polishing, and finishing methods
All tools and materials are provided. Supplies are included in the class fee.
Next step: If you want to deepen your skills, you can take the Intermediate Metalworking for Jewelry class or the Intro to Soldering for Jewelry class.
Important Notes:- Class must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
- Wear shop-appropriate clothes: long pants, close-toed shoes, and hair tied back.
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early and sign our release of liability.

Woodshop Basics - Part 2 (of 2)

Duration: 2 hours
Group Size: Up to 3 students
Certification: Grants access to the Woodshop with membership or studio day pass.
Prerequisite: Woodshop Basics: Part 1
Build on your skills from Part 1 with this beginner-friendly follow-up class. You'll get hands-on experience with additional woodworking machines and techniques used for joinery and project building.
You’ll learn:- Safe use of the router table
- How to operate the band saw and jointer
- How to drill precise holes using the drill press
- Woodworking terms and joinery techniques
All tools and materials are provided. Supplies are included in the class fee.
Important Notes:- Register by 9:00 AM the day before class. For same-day inquiries, call or email us.
- Wear shop-appropriate clothes: long pants, close-toed shoes, and hair tied back.
