Jason Torpy is an Iraq war veteran and member of the AHA board of directors. He serves as president of the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers. Jason will speak about the activities and goals of the MAAF and its strategic alliance with the AHA.

The MAAF builds community for atheists and humanists in the military, connecting military members around the world. The MAAF takes action to educate and train both the military and civilian community about atheism in the military and the issues that face them. MAAF identifies, examines and responds to insensitive practices that illegally promote religion over non-religion within the military, or that discriminate against minority religions or differing beliefs.
