Hieroglyphs for Magicians: An Introduction
Detalhes
An introduction to the basics of reading Egyptian Hieroglyphs, and how they were used in magick.
The word "Hieroglyph" means "sacred inscription". Myth informs us that it was a gift to humanity from the God Tahuti (Thoth). This beautiful writing is a complex system of sound-signs and ideograms. We will go over the basic principles of hieroglyphs. You will learn how to write your name, the names of some of the Gods, and some basic vocabulary. We will examine how hieroglyphs were used in spells and as amulets.
We will also read the hieroglyphs on the Stele of Revealing. And I have an exciting new translation of the part of the stele by scholar B Niall Bjørn Nielsen.
