LatAm BISH Bash is a series of meetings and networking events that connect engineers, researchers, students, and companies working on speech, acoustics, and audio processing.
In this meeting, we will learn about Audio Intelligence Research at Spotify in a presentation by Rachel Bittner and Yu Wang.

Rachel Bittner is a research manager at Spotify. She holds a PhD from New York University, where she worked with Prof. Juan P. Bello in the Music and Audio Research Lab (MARL), an MSc in math from NYU's Courant Institute, and a BSc in music performance and math from UC Irvine. Before her PhD studies, she was a research assistant at NASA Ames Research Center.
Her research interests are at the intersection of audio signal processing and machine learning, applied to musical audio. Her research interests include automatic music transcription, source separation, musical version identification, and open-source software and datasets for music research.
Yu Wang is currently a research scientist at Spotify on the MIQ Team. She holds a PhD in Music Technology from New York University, where she worked with Prof. Juan P. Bello in the Music and Audio Research Laboratory (MARL), two MScs in Materials Science & Engineering from both Massachusetts Institute of Technology and National Taiwan University (NTU), and a bachelor's degree in Physics from NTU. Before joining MARL, she was in the Music Recording and Production program at Institute of Audio Research.
Her research interests focus on machine learning and signal processing for music and general audio. During her PhD, she has worked on building adaptive and interactive machine listening systems with minimal supervision using techniques such as few-shot learning and active learning. She enjoys playing guitar, producing music, and sound engineering.
