Title
Quacking with DuckDB: a Duck take on Porto Mass Transit
Theme
DuckDB is revolutionising data processing, enabling a single machine to handle what was considered Big Data just two years ago.
In this presentation, we'll delve into a real-life case where we develop a platform to identify delays in Porto buses. The talk will walk you through the entire data pipeline, starting with the ingestion of real-time Porto Bus data from the "Explore Porto" platform. We'll then explore three different data formats compatible with DuckDB: Sqlite, Parquet, and Iceberg. Additionally, we'll provide an introduction to using DBT for data transformation and demonstrate how to ingest data from S3. Finally, we'll showcase the power of DuckDB in analysing real-time data and detecting potential issues.
