Kubernetes has become the de-facto standard for cloud infrastructure. It scales all the way from some Raspberry Pi's in a closet to an arbitrary number of globally distributed highly available data centers. All major cloud vendors support it, preventing lock-in. Oracle Coherence has been doing high-end distributed compute work since the dawn of the 21st century. It is an industry proven data-grid and intelligent caching solution with strong support for realtime distributed computing and transactions.

Ed Burns

Ed Burns is a Consulting Member of the Technical Staff at Oracle and has worked on a wide variety of client and server side web technologies since 1994, including NCSA Mosaic, Mozilla, Jakarta Tomcat and, most extensively, JavaServer Faces, on which he was the co-spec lead. Ed was also a leader for the Servlet specification. Ed is an experienced international conference speaker, with consistently high attendence numbers and ratings at JavaOne (Rockstar award winner 2016), Devoxx, DevNexus, and many others. He has published four books with McGraw-Hill, JSF: The Complete Reference (2006), Secrets of the Rockstar Programmers: Riding the IT crest (2008) JSF 2.0: The Complete Reference (2010) and Hudson Continuous Integration In Practice (2013).
