We are the HFF Trail Trekkers: We a’gonna get our step-counters a’workin’ !!
Hugh will lead on the Pilot Cove/Slate Rock Loop; Up to 8 ppl are welcome to join us.
PARTICIPANTS REQUIRE THE APPROVAL OF THE HIKE ORGANIZER.
Hike Distance: 7 mi; Accum ascent: 1200 ft …Pace: 2.5 mph.
Difficulty: Rocks, roots and steep slopes.
Masticating will be ‘in motion’.
Drive time: ½ hr 1-way
Apprx return time: 2:45 pm
Carpool contributions appreciated. $3.00 suggested

The Blue Ridge Chamber Ringers is a small group of members from the Blue Ridge Ringers. They will be bringing their music to the Etowah Library. Free and for all ages. See the Etowah Library website to register for this event online. https://hendersonpl.libcal.com/event/16295920

You'll hear American Folk Tunes rung with handbells and choirchimes both of which are percussive instruments tuned to the tones of the musical scale.

Each of the pieces you will hear have been arranged so that the tunes themselves and the accompanying chords can be played within a range of only two octaves of pitch.

Audience with have an opportunity to ask questions about the instruments.

I am going to saunter along the Flint Crk Tr in Rocky Fork State Park TN; (near Flag Pond, TN) A few of you are welcome to join me.
Distance: 3.0 mi RT/ 450 Accum ascent.
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
Difficulty: Rocky, well developed tr. This event is NOT for beginners or those with health or balance issues.
Drive time: 1.25 Hr/ 60 mi (1-way). (via I-26north)

Return Not earlier than:: 3:15 pm; (6hrs) Time includes food stop.
We WILL stop at Weaverville for food after. ;-) (Twisted Laurel or Blue Mountain Pizza – neither are dog friendly)

Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. Obstreperous raucous yawping is discouraged. My attempts to quiet the prattlers has failed. This has become a ‘social networking’ event.
THIS IS A DOG-PARTICIPANT HIKE. (Restaurants are NOT dog friendly) This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Dogs (and Masters) required to be ‘on-leash'. 'On leash' in vicinity of other hike groups. Small (lap)dogs may carpool. Large dogs will drive themselves.

Swimmin’ holes along the way; Picnic tables at parking
Flint Creek Trail: At a moderate 3.0 total miles(in&out)/300ft ascent, the Flint Creek Trail guides hikers along cascading Flint Crk (no falls) to the historic battle site of John Sevier in the Cherokee and Chickamauga Wars. This is a pretty trail.
