Product Fest: Strategy, AI & Impact

Av. República de Panamá 3591

**Join ProductTank DC for an evening exploring the human side of Product Management with Ellen Loeshelle, Head of Software and UX at Vestaboard**

We often talk about product management in terms of products, processes, roadmaps, and metrics — but being an effective PM is just as much about navigating relationships, leading through change, and understanding the people behind the work.

In this talk, [Ellen Loeshelle](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ellen-loeshelle/) will share lessons from her own product leadership journey, including leading through an acquisition, managing and developing people in product, and navigating the ways that major life experiences can shape a career.

We’ll explore how relationships and personal experiences influence our ability to lead, collaborate, make decisions, and build sustainable careers in product. Whether you’re just starting out in product, exploring a career in PM, or are an experienced product leader, come hear real stories and practical lessons from Ellen’s journey.

**Speaker:**
Ellen Loeshelle recently joined Vestaboard as their first Head of Software Product and UX and is thrilled to work on a product that she loves in her own home. Prior to Vestaboard, she was a product leader at Qualtrics where she led the Market Research and Healthcare product portfolios. Ellen began her career at Clarabridge, a customer experience analytics company, transitioning from consulting into product management and eventually taking on product leadership. Following Qualtrics’ acquisition of Clarabridge, Ellen continued to grow her scope as a product leader. Her experience spans AI and data products, bringing emerging technologies into customer-facing products, and leading product organizations through significant change and growth. Ellen lives in Arlington with her husband Joel, Jackson (5.5) and Parker (3).

Products Are Easy, People Are Hard

3100 Clarendon Blvd suite 800

Your users can't read. They can't tell you what they want. They lose interest in seconds, and they aren't the ones paying.

***Welcome to building products for toddlers!***

Designing for the youngest users turns most product playbooks upside down. Discovery means watching rather than asking.

And success isn't just engagement: parents want products that calm, teach and respect their children's time, not ones that keep them hooked.

**Irene will explain what do you do when you’re a startup without a large marketing team and you can’t afford to run experiments constantly?**

*Using the real-world case of MiniTales, we’ll explore how research, data, and user behavior analysis can help uncover what truly drives conversion and turn those insights into product decisions.*

*A journey through decisions that worked, hypotheses that didn’t, and unexpected learnings about how people actually use a product.*

*And above all, how to grow a business through product when you have to be very deliberate about what to research, what to build, and where to invest your resources.*

**Andrea will share with us real-life cases from those moments when you step out of the screens and the Product Manager's cave, observe your users in their natural habitat, and discover that many of the hypotheses generated with AI weren’t quite right after all.**

*She’ll talk about why some product problems can only be solved by looking, not just measuring, and by getting out from behind a screen.*

*And she’ll explore the following question: in the midst of the AI boom, do we really believe we can build and iterate on products without seeing how real people actually use them?*

Join ProductTank Madrid for an evening with two product leaders who build products for kids and who will share their challenges, learning and insights from real day-to-day experience.

They'll share how they research, design, measure and grow products for an audience that will never fill in a survey.

**What you'll hear**

* How to do discovery and testing with users who can't explain themselves
* Designing for two audiences at once: the child who uses it and the parent who chooses it
* What "good engagement" means when you care about wellbeing, not screen time
* Building accessible and inclusive experiences for every child
* Lessons from launching and growing kids' products in Spain

**Who is this event for?**

* Product managers, designers and researchers working on consumer, edtech or family products
* Anyone curious about designing for users who can't give direct feedback

No kids required — just curiosity.

Building Product For Toddlers

eDreams International Network

Hey, Valencia product people! 👋

Our October ProductTank event is ready, and you’re invited!
This time, we’re exploring **machine learning for product people**, with an expert speaker to help us make sense of the topic and what it means for our work.

📍 **New venue:** We’ll be hosted by **[Deutsche Telekom IT](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Yyyrmjd8b42kYapJ8)**[ ](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Yyyrmjd8b42kYapJ8)this time, so make sure you head to the right location!

**About the talk**

Machine learning can create product capabilities that would be extremely difficult or impossible to build with manually written rules alone.

It can also fail silently, behave differently as users and data change, improve a model’s test score without improving the product, and turn a seemingly simple feature into an open-ended research project.

ML is not just another backend service. Unlike ordinary software, you cannot fully define its behavior in advance and expect it to remain stable. It depends on data, requires continuous testing and monitoring, and almost every attempt to improve it involves uncertainty and experimentation.

In this talk, we will explore:
\- when ML is the right tool\, and when a simpler solution is better
\- how to plan effort\, timelines\, and expected impact when the outcome is uncertain
\- what data\, infrastructure\, testing\, monitoring\, and clear ownership ML products require
\- why better model metrics do not always lead to better product outcomes

The goal is not to scare product teams away from ML, but to make its real costs, risks, and requirements visible before committing to it.

And one more friendly reminder
