What a book club is to discussion of literature, this event is to discussion of game design. Every month, we agree to play a game, then meet to discuss and analyze its design and presentation.

The annual Seattle Indies Holiday Party - the can't-miss social event of the year for Seattle-based game developers - At GameWorks 12/14/25

Seattle Indies is excited to bring you our ninth annual Holiday Party! Join us for a special night of festive drinks and merry-making with your fellow indie devs to celebrate a successful 2025, and kick off 2026!

This is taking place at GameWorks in downtown Seattle, where we have reserved the entire large venue filled with videogame machines, all of which will be unlocked for this event.

**Dinner Buffet**
An all-you-can-eat Latin Buffet, Pizza & Pasta Bar, and Deserts Bar. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available.

**Cocktail Bar**
We'll be providing beer, wine, and cocktails! Be sure to bring your photo ID. Drink tickets will be provided.

**Unlimited Gaming**
Your ticket includes unlimited access to every arcade game GameWorks has to offer in their huge collection. Prize tickets and prize redemption will not be available for this event.

**Photo Booth**
This year we'll have an automated photo booth where you can create your own digital keepsakes.

**Dress To Impress** (Optional)
Use this occasion as an excuse to dress up as fancy as you've secretly longed to! You can come dressed for a Seattle cocktail party, or wear an ugly sweater. Do anything to get into the spirit!

Note that all Seattle Indies Superhero tier patrons on Patreon at the time of this event creation should have received a code for a ticket to this event.

We know that the past couple of years have been difficult for the game industry with layoffs. If you've been affected by a layoff and are still out of work, email ty@seattleindies.org for a discount code.

**Frequently asked questions:**
\- Do I need to be over\-21 to come?
No, our event is all ages! You only need to be over-21, as well have a valid photo ID, in order to be served alcohol by our bartenders.

\- Do I need to print or show a ticket to enter?
No, all we need is your first and last name that you registered with on Eventbrite, though having a QR code ready will get you (and those behind you) in faster!

\- Can I bring a guest?
Yes! But everyone will need to have their own Eventbrite registration.

\- Can I sponsor?
Please do, if you have the means. In reality, buying out a huge venue in the heart of Seattle and providing everyone with food and drinks costs much more than the $50 price of admission and is offset by generous sponsors. You can be an indie sponsor via Eventbrite, or if you'd like to be a premium sponsor and have a drink named after you, reach out to ty@seattleindies.org. All donations are tax-deductible.

\- Can I volunteer?
You can! We're looking for volunteers who will get a free ticket in return for working half of the time and helping set up and tear down. Contact ty@seattleindies.org if you're interested.

\- What do the ticket costs cover?
$50 helps us cover the cost of this special once-a-year event, which includes a bar tab, dinner buffet, venue rental, and service staff. Your donation above that will help the Seattle Indies organization with the numerous events and activities we put on throughout the year! The funds we raise at the Holiday Party will be used to help support the following events as we grow through 2026:
Our yearly one-day exhibition Seattle Indies Expo, showcasing 30+ local games to thousands of attendees.
\- Hosting Game Jam events throughout the year\, such as the Global Game Jam in January\, the Seattle Indies Game Jam in November\, and collaborations with other organizations like University of Washington and Pacific Science Museum\.
\- Providing monthly social and networking events held all over the greater Seattle area\.
\- Supporting developers with the weekly Coffee Break $formerly known as Support Group$ meetup\.
\- Hosting our own quarterly showcases\.
\- Highlighting the work of teams in the community through social media activities\, such as weekly discussion threads in Facebook and engaging developers on Discord and Twitter\.
