The Tampa Bay Ukulele Society

The Carrollwood Strummers Ukulele Group meets weekly on Thursdays to Strum and Sing from 12:00 to 1:30. We meet in The Studio at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Look for the green building behind the main building. Access the parking from Casey Road.

Players at all levels welcome. We are still using printed song sheets. Additional songs are often handed out at our jams. We have a few players that also play tin whistles. Their songs are matched for the Uke players to strum and sing along.

Players will need to bring a music stand and your favorite Ukulele. Songs are sent out by email in PDF format to be printed. Copies are available at rehearsal for those with out a printer. If you prefer to use an iPad with the OnSong App - songs can be emailed in OnSong format (or beamed to you at the jam).

Tampa Bay Ukulele Society (TBUS) Hosts an Introduction to Playing Ukulele for Teens and Adults

Beginners will learn about ukuleles...the different sizes, how to hold, tune, strum, and play a few chords. We will then strum and sing a group of easy 2 to 5 chord songs to reinforce the chord changes and build new player skills. After an intro to ukuleles for new players we will teach new chords as they are included in our songs.

If you have a ukulele please bring it. TBUS will have a limited number of ukuleles available at the workshop. (subject to availability).

TBUS will give you information on other TBUS events, and online resources. You will meet other ukulele enthusiasts.
