Nach Jahren der Entwicklung bei *Amadeus* (führender Anbieter von IT-Lösungen für die Tourismusbranche) wurde das Projekt in Teilen open sourced und der GSF übergeben. Ziel von **Carmen** (Carbon Measurement Engine) ist es alle Emissionen über eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen zu erfassen. Somit tritt es faktisch die Nachfolge von „*Cloud Carbon Footprint*“ an und nutzt auch dessen Kennzahlen. Im Kern setzt Carmen auf das Impact Framework auf und bringt es in die reale Anwendung.
