Eagle Valley Reservoir camping trip at Spring Valley State Park
Detalhes
It’s that time of the year again so come out and join us for some great outdoor fun. I know its Easter weekend but the group sites are ever more difficult to get so beggars can’t be choosers.
Spring Valley State park is is only about 3 hours from Las Vegas. One of the main attractions is Eagle Valley Reservoir. Camping here is a blast. Trout and bass fishing is pretty great also. You can fish from shore or canoe, kayak or paddle board.
Head north towards Pioche NV. At Pioche turn right/east on Route 322. When you pass the small store, go about two miles, there will be a small sign before the lake that reads Horse Thief Gulch campground. Turn right and that is where our group site is. The individual sites are to the left.
We were able to get the awesome group site right next to the lake. The fee for the sight was covered by me but it is still $25.00 per night per car. If you have an RV and get the RV spot with hookups its an addition fee per night.
GEAR- This is a car camping event at a group site with grills and large covered picnic table area. Bring whatever gear you need to make your camping stay comfortable for the weekend.
FIREWOOD- Bring what you are able as it gets cold up there.
FOOD and DRINK- Bring whatever you like to cook, eat and drink. The store is extremely limited. I will be cooking the fish I catch.
POTLUCK- Saturday night lets do our usual potluck. Bring something to share is all. It doesn't matter if you cook it or buy it. You don't have to bring/cook/buy enough for everyone just a small dish to share.
BATHROOMS AND SHOWERS- There are both. It's about a five minute walk to the HOT/FREE showers. The bathrooms are right at our site.
RV's- Are welcome and if for some reason you cant fit at our site then there are plenty of regular sites available but you should be able to fit in our large lot.
PETS- Well mannered pets are welcome. Please clean up after your pets at all times.
ACTIVITIES- Photography, hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, biking and hiking...
While camping here in the past we caught numerous rainbow trout and bass. You can catch them from shore or on the water both. If you bring a canoe or kayak with you must have life jackets. You need a fishing license to fish (unless you are 12 and under I believe). You can get them around town or up there at the General store but it’s difficult so I recommend getting it before you leave for the trip.
