Meditations for Healing Ourselves and Others
Kadampa Meditation Center LI, 282 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY, USThe meditation known as Taking and Giving, in Tibetan “tonglen”, has been used for centuries as a healing meditation. Not only is this meditation legendary for its physical healing properties, it is also a powerful method for healing painful mental tendencies such as insecurity, anger and hurt. Taking and Giving practice gives rise to innumerable benefits, including boosting positive energy, purifying the mind and in particular enabling us to deal skillfully and peacefully with our daily challenges. It also leads to the extraordinary mind of a special being, a Bodhisattva, often characterized as a “friend of the world”. In this series, Paige will introduce us to this amazing meditation – which is quite simple and can be practiced by anyone!
