Ver todos- Redwood Forests of Sam McDonald & Pescadero Creek County ParksSam McDonald County Park, Loma Mar, CA
The Sam McDonald/Pescadero Creek County Park complex is the largest redwood park with first growth forests unaffected by the 2020 wildfires. Our route will take us through gorgeous areas that very few people visit. We may have the park almost entirely to ourselves.
The full route is approximately 14 miles with 2,500 feet of elevation gain, with a shorter option of approximately 11.5 miles and 1,800 feet of elevation gain.
Moderate pace; not for those speed demons or gazelles who only want to see how fast they can go, or for whom stopping for a view or wildflower is a distraction. However, this is not a hike for those just getting into shape; you should be in good physical condition and able to keep up a steady pace. Return to cars 6:45-ish.
• DO NOT attend if you are sick, coughing, sneezing, or have been around anyone who is sick.
