L’il Rev Workshop: Crucial Chord Progressions
L’il Rev is back! One of our favorite teacher/performers is returning in the Burgh to teach us “Crucial Chord Progressions”!
Crucial Chord Progressions is a multi-faceted class that teaches: Chord Knowledge improvement (open and moveable), parody songwriting, strum-hand techniques, rock n blues rhythms, how to recognize common chord cycles, playing by ear, chunking on the 2 & 4, and much more! A hefty PDF is provided and I’ll send this onto those signed up. We end the class by making a video together of all of us playing a simple tune together that'll be posted to my you tube channel.
The cost of the workshop is $35pp. RSVP here but to pay, you must register on Eventbrite and pay online HERE. If you would prefer to pay cash or check, you can give it to Kathy, Sunny or Amber at one of our jams or pay at the door. If you are paying cash, PLEASE email Sunny that you intend to do this so we can have an accurate headcount beforehand!
About L'il Rev: Lil' Rev is a world-class entertainer and steward of vintage song and lore. Performing with ukulele, harmonica, mandolin, guitar and banjo, Rev has an unmatched repertoire of both traditional and original song, poetry, storytelling and humor. Audiences will sing-along, clap, laugh, and maybe even shed a tear at a Lil’ Rev performance. Both entertainer and educator, Rev is renowned as one of the preeminent ukulele instructors and performers in the nation with multiple instructional books in print. Lil Rev is indeed, the Woody Guthrie of the Ukulele.
Plan to arrive at 6:30pm to check-in. This room is already set up with tables and chairs. The workshop will be held in Room 104 at the St. Athanasius church Community Center located at 7 Chalfont Avenue, 15229. The center is easy to access from both Route 19 and Route I- 279. The room is also comfortably spacious with plentiful free parking.
