Taxi Driver, Sat. 6/27 (meet between 3:10 and 3:25)

Taxi Driver is a film made in 1976 that resulted in some reviews that were highly negative, some that were highly positive, and the remainder that were somewhere in between. The fact that the AFI is showing it gives us a chance to see it and make up our own minds. I am not giving anything away by saying that the movie is rather violent toward its end, so keep this in mind when deciding whether to attend. Watch the Taxi Driver trailer to try to get a better idea of what this film is all about.

MEETING UP

I will be at the AFI at 3:10, and I’ll be in the lobby standing in the back right corner. To improve the chance of spotting me, I’ll be wearing a red shirt like the one in my photo (and I’ll also have a small Meetup sign on an over-the-shoulder pack that I’ll be wearing). At about 3:25 we can go into the theatre to take our seats. The movie will start at 3:40.

AFTER THE FILM

Meet just outside the screening room so we can trade notes about what we just saw. Then, if there is interest, we can go to Sweetgreen to talk about film and anything else that comes to mind.
