Description: Hikers must pre-register online for this event.
Meet at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 start for this roughly 8-mile, out-and-back hike to the highest single-drop waterfall in CT. No dogs. We will hike at 2-2.5 mph over rolling terrain with several steep areas, no scrambles. Proper hiking footwear with good traction is mandatory: no sneakers. Poles are recommended. Depending on the weather, spikes might be necessary. Anticipate mud if the spring thaw has started. Hikers must carry water, snacks or light meal, personal medications and first-aid supplies. We will stay as a group for the entire hike. The end time is a guess: please allow extra time in case of unforeseeable circumstances. Park on the cul-de-sac at 25 Boardman Drive, Prospect. Please be sure to leave at least 15' between your car and a mailbox or driveway: the neighbors aren't always happy that public parking is allowed here.
