Learn How to Create WordPress Campus Connect Website Using Block Editor
This online workshop is designed to help WordPress Campus Connect and WordCamp organizers learn how to build a complete event website using the WordPress Block Editor. The session focuses on practical, hands-on learning, guiding participants through the process of creating an event website from scratch using modern, block-based tools.
The workshop will begin with an introduction to the WordPress Block Editor, explaining how basic blocks work and how they are used to create layouts and content. Participants will learn how different blocks function, how to combine them to build sections, and how to customize elements such as text, images, buttons, and layouts for an event-focused website.
Next, the workshop will cover how block editor templates and template parts work, including how headers, footers, and page structures are managed in block themes. Attendees will also learn how to use templates, patterns, and reusable elements to speed up development and maintain design consistency across the website.
A key part of the workshop will be a live demonstration, where I will recreate an actual event website that I previously built for a Campus Connect event. This real-world example will help participants understand the complete workflow and apply the concepts to their own events more effectively.
Since building a full event website involves multiple components, it may not be possible to cover everything in a single session. To ensure better learning and clarity, the workshop will be divided into multiple parts, each focusing on specific aspects of building and managing a WordPress event website.
By the end of this workshop series, participants will have a strong foundation to confidently create and manage event websites for Campus Connect or WordCamp events.
