Berlin Sprachcafé. Learn and practise German easily (A1-A2)
Berlin Sprachcafé. Learn and practise German easily (A1-A2)
The Language Café is primarily aimed at people who are struggling with their mental health which can make it hard to go to regular courses. We want to create a safe space for everyone to learn and practise without pressure. Everyone is welcome! Please try to be on time so we can all get started together :) We mainly practise on a beginner/lower intermediate level and adapt to everyone's prior level of German. The Language Café will focus on teaching you the most important words and phrases and basic grammar in German. The content of the course is adapted to real life. (everyday life in Germany, dealing with authorities, etc.) We will cover different topics every week and you can join us anytime, since the topics do not necessarily build on each other. The Sprachcafé is for free. \*If you cannot make it please cancel your participation so someone else from the waiting list can join, thank you!\* \| \| \| \|

**Termine**: 22./01, 12./02, 26./02, 12./03, 09./04, and 23./04. **Geschlossene Gruppe**: Diese Struktur schafft eine vertrauensvolle Umgebung, in der Teilnehmer tiefergehende Verbindungen aufbauen können. **Kosten**: kostenlos mit Anmeldung *\*\* Diese Veranstaltung ist Teil unseres Programms ‚****[Gemeinsam statt einsam](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness)****‚, unterstützt von der* ***[LADS](https://www.berlin.de/sen/lads/)****.* *Erfahre mehr über das Programm [hier](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness).* 🔵 **From Loneliness to Community \| Creating Connections** **with *Marco Obermüller*** **Closed Group \| 6 Thursdays \| In German\*** für **LGBTQIA+** Free event with **[registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien1/w04-2026/)** Loneliness can arise when people have few opportunities to experience genuine connection with others. This is where the group comes in, creating spaces in which a sense of belonging can be actively experienced. By working together on personal topics, a social space of resonance emerges that replaces isolation with relationship and contact. Through the structured sharing of experiences, loneliness becomes visible, discussable, and therefore open to change. Through facilitated interaction, shifts in perspective, small experiments in experiencing contact, and shared reflection, participants develop new forms of connectedness and strategies for social effectiveness. The group functions not only as a source of support, but also as a learning environment for shaping relationships. In this way, resilient connections are formed that extend beyond the individual meeting and help to sustainably reduce loneliness. **General Information** This group consists of a maximum of 15 participants. **Language**: This series will be held in German. This series is open to everyone. Your German should be fluent enough to follow an event in German. **Important**: you must commit to all 6 sessions. **Dates**: 22/01, 12/02, 26/02, 12/03, 09/04, and 23/04. **Closed Group**: This structure creates a supportive environment where participants can build deeper connections. **Cost**: free event with registration *\*\* This event is part of the we are village program ‘****[Belonging versus Lonelines](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness)****‘, with the support of* ***[LADS](https://www.berlin.de/sen/lads/en/)****.* *Learn more about the program [here](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness).*

Feature Afternoon: Mommy I don‘t want to (OV) + Networking for Filmmakers & Q&A
Feature Afternoon: Mommy I don‘t want to (OV) + Networking for Filmmakers & Q&A
Feature Afternoon: Filmscreening & Networking for Filmmakers. TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE (7€): https://kino-central.de/film/indiegold-mommyidontwantto/?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio THE MOVIE: MOMMY I DON’T WANT TO is a gripping psychological thriller inspired by true events, transporting audiences into the shadows of 1970s California — brought to life on location across Greater Manchester and Lancashire, with studio scenes filmed in Dubai. The film builds a tense, atmospheric portrait of fear, survival, and the enduring bonds between a mother and child facing unimaginable threat. Adapted from Chris Friedman’s acclaimed novel of the same name, the story is entirely fictional — all characters and names are works of imagination. With meticulous period detail, the production recreates the atmosphere of 1970s American suburbia through the rich historical architecture of Northern England, a creative choice that allowed the filmmakers to achieve remarkable authenticity without extensive post-production or green screen work. The film explores themes of maternal instinct, institutional failure, and the psychological aftermath of living under the shadow of a serial predator. It is a story that resonates far beyond its historical setting — a timeless examination of how communities fracture under the weight of fear, and how individuals find courage in the most impossible of circumstances. IndieGold: IndieGold is a Film-Festival (we show feature Films once a month) organized by local Filmmakers from Berlin. We run the Company Seceda Studios and we deeply want to support the Indie Filmscene in Germany. :) After the Movie we go to a local Park (or in case of bad weather another location) so you have the chance to network with local filmmakers. See you there!

**Instinct #20** \| Workshop with ***Lo Höckner*** for **LGBTQIA+** Free with **[registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/village-instinct-workshop/w15-2026)** **Beyond Overwhelm** is a somatic, collective workshop that links embodied practice to social change. Together, participants explore how capitalist working cultures shape our nervous systems toward chronic overwhelm and isolation—and how we can cultivate embodied resistance. **Beyond Overwhelm** relates to embodied learning circles with clear links to social change, aiming to practice together and empower their members to gain agency and take action. This workshop deliberately addresses the body and practicing together as a collective political practice, accessing the collective wisdom of a group. In this workshop, we are going to explore how working cultures under capitalism are creating a sense of overwhelm in our nervous systems, and furthermore, how we can cultivate embodied resistance. The session offers tools for coming out of overwhelm as a foundation for building relational strategies and counteracting individualization; exploring why this is necessary for political agency while refraiming activism. Through body-based practices, collective inquiry and imagination, this workshop gives space to explore the participant’s lived environment and how practices of connection, care and existing otherwise could be brought into it 🔵 **Beyond Overwhelm** ist ein somatischer, kollektiver Workshop, der verkörperte Praxis mit sozialem Wandel verbindet.

Comedy Night + Open Mic (Bring Wine)
Comedy Night + Open Mic (Bring Wine)
**Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: Tristan Shae and friends return to entertain us and to warm the group up for our open mic session. February's Open Mic / Comedy Night was a smash hit and it's worth a second night. We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club. **On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\. **Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours. **Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! **Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing. **Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions. **After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee. Please join us. Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends. Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***, **Red 1 Realty** *Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*
