**Termine**: 22./01, 12./02, 26./02, 12./03, 09./04, and 23./04. **Kosten**: kostenlos mit Anmeldung *\*\* Diese Veranstaltung ist Teil unseres Programms ‚****[Gemeinsam statt einsam](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness)****‚, unterstützt von der* ***[LADS](https://www.berlin.de/sen/lads/)****.* *Erfahre mehr über das Programm [hier](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness).* 🔵 **From Loneliness to Community \| Creating Connections** **with *Marco Obermüller*** **Closed Group \| 6 Thursdays \| In German\*** für **LGBTQIA+** Free event with **[registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien1/w04-2026/)** Loneliness can arise when people have few opportunities to experience genuine connection with others. This is where the group comes in, creating spaces in which a sense of belonging can be actively experienced. By working together on personal topics, a social space of resonance emerges that replaces isolation with relationship and contact. Through the structured sharing of experiences, loneliness becomes visible, discussable, and therefore open to change. Through facilitated interaction, shifts in perspective, small experiments in experiencing contact, and shared reflection, participants develop new forms of connectedness and strategies for social effectiveness. The group functions not only as a source of support, but also as a learning environment for shaping relationships. In this way, resilient connections are formed that extend beyond the individual meeting and help to sustainably reduce loneliness. **General Information** This group consists of a maximum of 15 participants. **Language**: This series will be held in German. This series is open to everyone. Your German should be fluent enough to follow an event in German. **Important**: you must commit to all 6 sessions. **Dates**: 22/01, 12/02, 26/02, 12/03, 09/04, and 23/04. **Closed Group**: This structure creates a supportive environment where participants can build deeper connections. **Cost**: free event with registration *\*\* This event is part of the we are village program ‘****[Belonging versus Lonelines](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness)****‘, with the support of* ***[LADS](https://www.berlin.de/sen/lads/en/)****.* *Learn more about the program [here](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness).*

Berlin Sprachcafé. Learn and practise German easily (A1-A2)
The Language Café is primarily aimed at people who are struggling with their mental health which can make it hard to go to regular courses. We want to create a safe space for everyone to learn and practise without pressure. Everyone is welcome! Please try to be on time so we can all get started together :) We mainly practise on a beginner/lower intermediate level and adapt to everyone's prior level of German. The Language Café will focus on teaching you the most important words and phrases and basic grammar in German. The content of the course is adapted to real life. (everyday life in Germany, dealing with authorities, etc.) We will cover different topics every week and you can join us anytime, since the topics do not necessarily build on each other. The Sprachcafé is for free. \*If you cannot make it please cancel your participation so someone else from the waiting list can join, thank you!\* \| \| \| \|

Filipino Community Event!
Filipino Community Event!
I would like to share some new things I have discovered about the history of the Filipino community in Berlin. Charlottenburg is a vibrant hub for the Filipino community in Berlin. Every Sunday at 3:30pm, you can attend holy mass in Filipino at the Heilig-Geist-Kirche (Holy Spirit Church) on Bayernallee 28. Just a short distance away, Pinoy—the city’s oldest Filipino restaurant, owned by Rosalinda Nolasco-Jecht at Danckelmannstr. 49—serves traditional home-cooked dishes like *Sinigang* and *Adobo*. To support the Filipino community, I would like to promote an upcoming event. On April 11, Pinoy will host a special event, Kain Tayo Day, featuring Filipino street food from 12:00–4:30pm, followed by a special *Kamayan* Dinner from 5:30–7:00pm. (You can reserve your spot for the *Kamayan* Dinner [here](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd1omVLu-bY6oZvwD82akCA3iL65I9U7KlC1ZCJCtYyJ1il7A/viewform?usp=publish-editor).) This is a perfect opportunity if you are a *Pinoy* craving Filipino food or a foreigner who has never tried it. Meetup members, shall we gather at 2:30pm for *merienda*? It will be entirely up to you if you want to avail of their dinner menu. **Filipino Vocabulary:** **Pinoy** refers to a native or inhabitant of the Philippines, or to something related to the country or its people. The term is a diminutive form of Filipino and is used as both a noun and an adjective. **Sinigang** is a Filipino sour soup with a tangy broth, typically made with tamarind and simmered with pork, beef, fish, or shrimp, along with vegetables like eggplant and string beans. Some regions use other souring agents, such as guava or calamansi. **Adobo** is typically made with pork or chicken cooked in vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, bay leaves, and black peppercorns. **Kain tayo** means "Let's eat" in Filipino and serves as a warm invitation to share a meal, reflecting the Filipino values of hospitality, community, inclusion, and generosity. **Kamayan** is the traditional Filipino practice of eating with the hands. The word comes from the Filipino term "kamay," meaning "hand," and this method emphasizes communal dining, often during celebrations and family gatherings. **Merienda** in the Philippines is a traditional light meal or snack eaten between main meals, usually in the mid-morning or afternoon. Introduced during Spanish colonial times, it features both sweet and savory dishes such as kakanin, pancit, and lumpia. More than just eating, merienda is a time to socialize and take a break with family or friends.

For this conversation we invite Joshua Amissah, writer and curator focusing on Black queer perspectives; Antke Antek Engel, philosopher and director of the Institute for Queer Theory in Berlin; Jan  Großer, psychiatrist and psychotherapist; Mati Klitgård, facilitator and founder of the Gay Consent.Lab; and Eric Le Rouge, director of Instinct Art and co-founder of we are village. The discussion will be moderated by Neo Seefried, facilitator of the workshop series *Radical Empathy – Queer Storytelling for Connection* and co‑curator of *Instinct Art*. Between the need for safety and the demand for visibility, we ask what queer identity means today: lived experience, political project—or both at once? **About Instinct** Instinct.berlin is an arts organization that presents exhibitions with queer artists twice a year at the Village, a community center for queer people in Berlin. These exhibitions, along with performances and talks, encourage interaction between artists and the local community. The residency program allows artists to engage intensively with the vibrant atmosphere of the Village and build a bridge between their work and the wider queer community. This collaboration enriches the cultural dialog and supports the development of queer art projects, benefiting both the artists and the community at large. Curatorial Tour – Instinct#20
**Curatorial Tour – Instinct#20** for **LGBTQIA+** Free event **Group exhibition** During this **curatorial tour**, we will guide you through artworks that engage with conflict as a generative force and explore “Radical Empathy” as an active, transformative practice. Together, we will consider how empathy can be learned, challenged, and reimagined through queer artistic perspectives. The tour will examine how artists create spaces that embrace difference, resist dominant narratives, and invite us to remain open to discomfort, connection, and change. Moving beyond passive understanding, these works propose empathy as a relational encounter—one that has the potential to reshape how we live with and through conflict. **instinct #20** __ viewing 02.–12. Instinct #20 | Workshop
**Instinct #20** \| Workshop with ***Lo Höckner*** for **LGBTQIA+** Free with **[registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/village-instinct-workshop/w15-2026)** **Beyond Overwhelm** is a somatic, collective workshop that links embodied practice to social change. Together, participants explore how capitalist working cultures shape our nervous systems toward chronic overwhelm and isolation—and how we can cultivate embodied resistance. **Beyond Overwhelm** relates to embodied learning circles with clear links to social change, aiming to practice together and empower their members to gain agency and take action. This workshop deliberately addresses the body and practicing together as a collective political practice, accessing the collective wisdom of a group. In this workshop, we are going to explore how working cultures under capitalism are creating a sense of overwhelm in our nervous systems, and furthermore, how we can cultivate embodied resistance. The session offers tools for coming out of overwhelm as a foundation for building relational strategies and counteracting individualization; exploring why this is necessary for political agency while refraiming activism. Through body-based practices, collective inquiry and imagination, this workshop gives space to explore the participant’s lived environment and how practices of connection, care and existing otherwise could be brought into it 🔵 **Beyond Overwhelm** ist ein somatischer, kollektiver Workshop, der verkörperte Praxis mit sozialem Wandel verbindet.
