Incinerator Ridge to Mt. Bigelow

This hike starts at about 7,000 feet on Mt. Lemmon at the San Pedro Vista. From there we hike up the ridge, and eventually take the short hike to the summit of Mt. Bigelow. The hike offers a good mix of views from the ridge and hiking under the wooded canopy. Based on the forecast for this day, I expect temperatures in the low to mid 70's for our hike.

This is an out-an-back hiking totaling 5.6 miles, and is rated Intermediate, with a total elevation gain of 1,500 feet. Accordingly, you should be a regular hiker in good shape if you sign up.

Our expected hike time is 2 3/4 hours, with a total hike of 3 1/4 hours, including rest time. This equates to a hike speed of 2.0 miles per hour. This speed may be considered fast, considering the steepness of the ascent.

Remember to bring at least 1 liter of water for the 3 1/4 hour hike. We will be meeting at Le Buzz at Tanque Verde and Catalina Highway, and carpooling to the trailhead. Driving volunteers are appreciated.
