It's a Black Faerie Picnic!
Barnes Arboretum, 50 Lapsley Lane,, Merion Station, PA, USWE'RE CELEBRATING BLACK FAE DAY (we're a little late, but who cares?)!! Celebrate the summer at our 4th annual Black Faerie Picnic!
We are finally emerging from our winter hiding places, and we're ready to shine. Let's gather in a lovely garden space, eat, and take pics as you dazzle in your sparkliest, sassiest tutu, that jumpsuit you never get to wear, or your frilliest sundress! Whether you're drawn to be a wood elf or a dark maleficent-style fairy, wings and sparkles are required. The cameras will be out and ready, and because we are fancy brown sugar faeries! FAERIE WINGS, EARS, & ATTIRE ARE REQUIRED FOR EVERYONE...because we are being extra!!
Respecting the Garden
- Please do not climb our trees.
- Refrain from entering garden beds.
- Please do not collect any material from the garden
- Please do not litter, trash receptacles are provided near the service building and Welcome Center.
- Pets are not permitted on the grounds with the exception of service animals.
- Please refrain from sporting activities (e.g. golf, frisbee, etc.).
- Saint Joseph's University is a smoke-free campus, no smoking is permitted on the grounds.

There are all types of restaurants and markets along City Ave to get food, from Landmark Americana to ACME to McDonald's.
Agenda
The fun starts at 12pm! Dance to music...munch on tasty snacks, sip on tasty beverages, take lots of pics, play some games, blow some bubbles, and be your sassy, fabulously sparkly self. Do I see a Faerie Runway moment?

Community Service: Serving Dinner at Philly House with Black Experiences
Philly House, 1325 Vine Street, Philadelphia, pa, USServing a meal to the homeless with Black Philadelphia!
Looking for an opportunity to give back? What better way than to serve a meal to some of Philadelphia's citizens experiencing homelessness? This is the easiest service project, but volunteers must be 18 or older!

Anyone who will be participating must sign up online. Please do not just show up the day of and participate in the meal service. This is a landing page specifically for our group that will show only your reserved shift. PLEASE DO THIS IMMEDIATELY AFTER RSVPING.
This service event is for adults 18 years and older only, no exceptions. Meal service engages volunteers to plate food, hand trays out to guests coming to the trailer. DUE TO THE KITCHEN RENOVATIONS, WE WILL BE SERVING MEALS OUT OF THE WHITE TRAILER IN THE PARKING LOT.
SERIOUS COMMITMENTS ONLY! WE ONLY HAVE 8 SLOTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED TO ATTENDING. It does us no good to have 20 people RSVP and only 2 show up to serve.
Dress code
Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops allowed). Volunteers should wear pants and socks and shoes. Hairnets, aprons, and plastic gloves will be provided.Parking
Their FREE PARKING LOT is on the north side of Vine Street West between 13th Street and Broad Street. Cross 13th Street, and make the next right into the parking lot between Roman Catholic High School and the facility. You will see the sign on the gate just before the entrance to the lot.
