We will be playing pickleball at Donaldson Park in Highland Park

There are 6 newer outdoor courts. I'm so excited to share the fun of pickleball with you!

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. If you have equipment, great, but there will be extra equipment available so just wear comfortable workout clothes and sneakers, and bring your best smile.

For newcomers who want to learn how to play, please play in the beginner's court, where an assigned experienced player will guide you.

After our successful winter and early spring outings, we’re shifting to a morning schedule to enjoy the best of the May weather. This walk falls on the eve of Pentecost (May 24th), making it a wonderful time to gather for some "spirit-renewing" movement and fellowship.

• Meet Up: 9:00 AM
• Start Walking: 9:15 AM (prompt)
• Duration: ~1 hour walk at a social pace.

WHERE
Metuchen Trailhead (Middlesex Greenway)

• Approximate Address: 673 Middlesex Ave, Metuchen, NJ 08840
• Parking: Grassy lot at the trailhead. (Backup: Whole Foods lot nearby if muddy).
• Transit: 0.6-mile walk from Metuchen NJ Transit Train Station. Also Served by NJ Transit Buses 810, 813, & 819.

‍THE WALK
A fully paved, mostly flat trail—ideal for conversation.

• The Plan: 30 mins out, 30 mins back (~2–3 miles total).
• Pace: Relaxed social pace (approx. 2–3 mph).
• Terrain: This path is mostly flat and paved, making it easy for everyone to keep the group pace.

☕️ AFTER-WALK SOCIAL
For those who want to keep the conversation going, we can decide as a group whether to grab a light snack, a coffee, or a breakfast treat nearby. Downtown Metuchen has many wonderful local spots within walking distance of the trailhead.

WHAT TO BRING

• Morning Layers: Temperatures are usually in the high 50s or low 60s at this hour—a light jacket or sweatshirt is perfect.
• Sun/Brightness: The sun will be climbing by 9:00 AM, so sunglasses or a brimmed hat are helpful for the clearer stretches of the trail.
• Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes or sneakers.
