О нас
Richmond City Cinema Club is all about cultivating a community of movie lovers. Our club is meant to be a fun and inclusive safe space, an easy social experience. Life is messy, but movies are cool. There's no pressure if you can't make it or don't feel like engaging once you're there... we're just happy to have you! And if you're looking to make real friends, we got you there too.
Events are movie showtimes at the Byrd or Movieland (and maybe the occasional Regal trip for an IMAX film or limited engagement). All movies are fair game, from independents to blockbusters, from new releases to classic films.
Sit with the group or wherever you'd like. Once the credits roll, we’ll meet up to chat about the movie and get to know your fellow moviegoers.
Please start here to read our guidelines, follow us on Instagram, or join our Discord!

Смотреть все- Sorry, Baby (2025)Movieland At Boulevard Square, Richmond, VA
Most of the RCCC hosts saw Sorry, Baby back in January for Sundance and loved it. I'm so excited that it's finally local in Richmond, and can't recommend it enough. It's tender and very funny in a dark way.
"Something bad happened to Agnes. But life goes on… for everyone around her, at least."
You can watch the trailer here.
CW: Sorry, Baby contains descriptions of sexual assault. You can check out its page on doesthedogdie.com here.
If this is your first movie with us, welcome. A group of us will be in the lobby 10-15min beforehand if you want to chat. Sit wherever you want in the theater, and we'll meet up in the lobby afterwards to talk about the movie.

🇩🇪 Part 3/3 of our Weimar Germany series
An infamous and simple question that Ernst Lubitsch asked himself at the turn of the 1940s as his former country of Germany had turned against him as a Jewish man. It seemed evident that someone should speak out against the atrocities being committed, so Ernst Lubitsch decided to do so in the only way he new how: by directing a hilarious and emotionally-devastating black comedy.Lubitsch had tackled similar war-time dramas earlier in his career with Broken Lullaby. He was infamous for comedies with films like Trouble in Paradise, Design for Living, Ninotchka, and The Shop Around the Corner which eventually influenced fellow émigré director Billy Wilder who notably had a “What Would Lubitsch do?” sign hanging in his office. To Be or Not To Be is the perfect fusion of his war films and his comedies as he truly pushes boundaries on celluloid while America is actively at war.
Like Shakespeare? This movie is full of jokes and callbacks to Hamlet and The Merchant of Venice. Like The Producers, The Grand Budapest Hotel, or Inglourious Basterds? Both pull heavily from To Be or Not To Be, with the Tarantino film literally lifting a full subplot from the Lubitsch masterpiece. Like to laugh? Many extremely smart people like Slavoj Žižek and Todd McGowan have called it the perfect comedy.
This is the next installation in a series of Staff Picks from the Hard Light crew. This film was selected by Warner, who has seen all of the Ernst Lubitsch films and thinks he’s probably the most influential comedy director.
