Let's go beyond the Greenway! Walking Hudson River Park's 20 public piers is a total immersion in a spectacularly transformed post-industrial waterfront. And about 11 miles.

Meet: Monday, April 20, 2026 at 9:30 a.m., Columbus Circle entrance to Central Park (Maine Monument). Restrooms at Deutsche Bank Center, in Central Park, and in HRPk.

Course:
Starting at Columbus Circle, we'll enter Hudson River Park at 59th, explore the full lengths of 20 (count 'em!) public piers, and appreciate the riverfront's vibrant maritime history along the way. Highlights include:

  • Pier 97, the park's newest, and recently opened Sunset Studios Pier 94 public walkway and viewing deck
  • Intrepid Pier 85: We will get pier-only passes. Security check includes bag inspection and walking through a metal detector
  • Lunch break on the magnificent rooftop of Pier 57
  • Gansevoort Peninsula featuring FDNY Marine 1 Fireboat and Manhattan’s only beach
  • Tribeca Pier 26: Giant sturgeon in fish-themed playground set the mood for this 2.5-acre pier evoking Manhattan's original shoreline ecosystem

Bring: Water, hat sunscreen, snacks. We will be lunching on the late side, after 1 p.m. BYO lunch or purchase at Market 57 Food Hall.

Drop-out points: Along the Greenway (12th Avenue), crosstown buses at West 44th Street and West 23rd Street connect to all subways. The No. 7 is accessible at West 34th Street (Hudson Yards).

Return: The walk ends at Chambers Street, with subways 1/2/3/A/C within 2-3 blocks and R/W, J/Z, and 4/5/6 2-3 blocks beyond that.

In the event of steady rain, we'll postpone the walk.
