Do you want to talk about important world events in a supportive environment? Do you want to talk about your feelings about what is going on? Bring your ideas and come join us for an interesting evening of thought provoking conversation. Please suggest a topic when you RSVP and describe yourself politically. I am a Democratic Socialists (description below) and everyone who can be respectful of differing points of view is welcome.
Democratic socialism is a political ideology advocating a participatory democratic political system alongside a socialist economic system, extending principles of democracy in the economy through consumer cooperatives, credit unions, mutual aid societies, and workplace democracy. Democratic socialism promotes a strong welfare state, fiscal redistribution through tax policies, workers' control of the labor process, and some nationalization (public ownership), to achieve greater equality in society, removing privilege and monopoly. We will be meeting near the entrance or inside the lobby of the Skywalk Condos between 7:00 and 7:15pm, and we will not be waiting for those arriving after 7:15pm. We will be going to the air conditioned library at my condo complex so we won't be disturbing my boyfriend, who doesn't have a political bone in his body. We can meet until 10ish, but if you need to leave earlier, no worries, you are always welcome, even if it is only for an hour or two.
The Skywalk Condos are located at 1595 Sukhumvit Road, just south of Soi 69 and Rama 4, it is a 50 story building, easy to see from the BTS, I have included some pictures below. Take Exit #3 Phra Khanong BTS, make a U turn at the bottom of the stairs, walk approximately 250 meters south on Sukhumvit Road, turning left onto the first driveway just past the new five story "W District" shopping center, turn left at the World Star Academy, and take a sharp right at the round circle construction area in the center of the driveway, the Skywalk Lobby will be immediately in front of you, we will be near the entrance or inside the lobby.
