Data Scientists use graphs (data visualisations) to understand data. Graphs can be a powerful and simple way to communicate data and results. This workshop will discuss real life examples to understand some best practices. The focus will be on eliminating biases and distortions whilst producing beautiful and presentable data visualisations. Participants are encouraged to bring one or two graphs to discuss in groups.

To have fun whilst working on a real-life data science example. Meet new people to discuss and exchange ideas with. You will be guided and supported

  1. Who is it for?

This is a workshop for anyone new to data science or people keen on learning more about some of the data science fundamentals.

  1. What do you need to bring?

Bring one or two graphs to discuss. They can be from newspapers, magazines, your work (avoid bringing confidential information), internet, ..

  1. Do I need to bring a laptop?

This is a laptop free event. No programming knowledge required. We will focus on the thinking behind creating good graphs.
