Ayutthaya Cycling - by Train

Details

Ladies will only be admitted to religious monuments if they are appropriately dressed. This includes a cover for their shoulders and a long dress. Bring a passport or other ID since train tickets need a passport to be purchased.

Bang Sue MRT station before 8:25 am. Meet at exit 2, next to the MRT ticket counter. Please arrive before 8:25 am as we need to purchase tickets and catch a train. We are unable to wait for late guests since the train leaves at 9:20 and I need to buy tickets.

Ayutthaya, just over an hour by train from Bangkok, is a fascinating place to visit and cycle. Ayutthaya has safe roads with dedicated cycle lanes, there are many ancient monuments to see in the central Historical Park. After leaving the train station, we cross to the main island by ferry and rent bikes on the island. We shall visit Wat Maha That, the temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam), as well as many other interesting monuments in Ayutthaya.

We shall stop for lunch at Ayutthaya before returning to Bangkok on the 15:20 train.

The route will involve about eighteen km of cycling. 150 baht fee will cover the train fare and arranging the trip. People will be responsible for their bike rental (60 baht), ferry (10 baht each way), and entrance to monuments (50 baht per monument).

To join us on the trip, transfer 150 baht to:
