The session will open with Dusty sharing her journey of creating research-backed aging well practices and growing them into a community-based leadership program through local hospital collaboration that has gone on to serve hospital policy for vulnerable populations. The 8-week Circle of Friendship Aging Well Healthspan Program is built on the four-room model, viewing each person as one house with four rooms—physical, mental, emotional, and social-spiritual—and is enacted through five core practices:

1. Breathing, meditation, positive mindset, and stress reduction.
2. Laughter for joy, movement, and connection.
3. Rhythm and brain engagement through learning and play.
4. Movement, including dance or chair yoga for all abilities.
5. Knowledge sharing, where participants teach and learn from one another.

Dusty will present a sampling of these activities in a lively, interactive format, demonstrating how the practices work and how they can be adapted and increased in difficulty to improve skill sets and better support each participant’s own healthspan. This session will wrap up with a discussion reflecting on key takeaways and practical ways to integrate these or other suitable practices into daily life. All levels of ability are welcome. Please dress comfortably for movement.
