Bang Rak Numerology

Details

UPDATE: I checked today and Number 1 Gallery is indeed the coffee place and not the other place. The new show is up and waiting for us! Note that you need to access the gallery from Soi Silom 21, and that soi is NOT accessible from Surasak Road due to a locked gate. The other galleries right there are closed (more on that in the comments) so after Number 1 we will go on towards Warehouse 30 directly.

See you tomorrow!

Having now completed our refreshing pause and welcomed the lovely ฝุ่นPM2.5 back to Krung Thép, let's immerse ourselves in Numerology!

Specifically, but visiting galleries named after lucky(?) numbers.

There are probably a lot of these in Bangkok, but I have in mind 3 main stops and probably >=3 more along the way.

Number 1 Gallery

http://www.number1gallery.com

I seem to always be seeing art from Number 1 at other locations, so it's time to go have a look at the source. There will be a fresh show by Verapong Sritrakulkitjakarn, which should be... enigmatic!

Googun is being unhelpful but as far as I can tell, there are 2 number 1's: the coffee shop gallery, and a space inside the Silom Galleria office building. I will attempt to solve this mystery before the meetup.

As long as we're there, we should also jump over to 333 Surasak and try to solve another mystery: is it connected to the other 3 333's within walking distance? All the 333 web sites are broken so we will have to ask in person.

333 Ex-Anywhere

Then we will walk over to Warehouse 30, and get serious about our threes: 333 Anywhere, which is now just 333 Gallery -- not to be confused with the other 2 333's that I think are the same 333 group -- and see new work by Krit Chantranet.

On the way, we'll have a look at the street art behind the Warehouse complex; and we might stop in to Warin Lab even though it's missing a number. Of course there are also 2 galleries within 100 meters of 333 so we might go to them too: Aurum and Atta. (Is A a number? In Hebrew it is!)

Once (temporarily) finished with the 3's we will walk past the giant crab and go up to our final (official) destination:

ATT 19

https://www.instagram.com/att19.bkk/

This will be the last weekend to catch the big Somyot Hananuntasuk show at ATT 19. Those of you who went to the last event may remember that we ran into him at one of the galleries. He's a very cool dude! And he speaks German so you can all watch as I switch into Berlin Mode if he's there. Icke!

Having done all this, we may be tired, we may be sweaty, and we, or at least I, may need a drink.

But! We will be really close to River City by then, so depending on moods and needs we might go there. For a coffee... or a beer... and maybe just a tiiiiny peek at whatever's still open. Like, maybe, 333 Gallery #3.

(And 2x double bonus: there is now a 333 #4 in IconSiam, which is just a boat ride from River City, though not one your Fearless Leader is likely to take on a Saturday. They should just change the name to 333 Everywhere.)

Meeting time is 2:30pm and meeting point is the Number 1 Gallery coffee shop. If the meeting point changes, I will update the event and also announce it to the Line group.
