Abandoned Mansion – a new American underground gangster-style bar on Sukhumvit 14
Abandoned Mansion, a new underground speakeasy on Sukhumvit 14, opening on Thursday 7 July 2022 for guests to mingle and network while enjoying a selection of creatively crafted drinks, cigars, and live entertainment.
Decorated under a 1930s American Gangster theme, Abandoned Mansion offers an intimate vibe that is ideal for both socializing with friends and private events. The venue space provides an airy high ceiling, yet maintaining a distinguished underground ambience with vintage ornamentation of golden, copper, and blue hues throughout the venue, a private dressing room with costumes for photoshoots, an exclusive cigar room with a lounge and balcony, and a cellarette to store drinks and cigars.
Elevated above the main bar with a marble counter is an open balcony for the DJ, overlooking the entire lounge. To enhance the atmosphere, there will also be live bands playing every evening, featuring music of R&B, jazz, and pop genres.
The menu served at Abandoned Mansion will align with the venue’s theme, dating back to a period where infamous gangers such as John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Bonnie and Clyde, Pretty Boy Floyd, Machine Gun Kelly, and Ma Barker to name a few, inspired the "Public Enemy” era where the FBI kept a list of wanted criminals. The creative cocktail concoctions are inspired by the icons – or public enemies – of the 1930s, featuring 8 themed cocktails 4 themed mocktails along with a wide variety of classics to be enjoyed with a selection of tapas and light snacks.
Themed signature cocktails include the iconic “John Dillinger” that fuses Havana Rum with white sugar, mint leaves, lime wedge, lime juice, kefir syrup with soda water, representing the legendary American criminal who also inspired many films. The “Al Capone”, who was another gangster in the thriving era who created an organized crime syndicate dedicated to smuggling and the trafficking of liquor, is also a muse for a signature cocktail at Abandoned Mansion which mixes vodka with strawberry puree, blackberry puree, raspberry puree, lemon, and vanilla syrup.
