Retro Recess field trips is an adventure series designed to reconnect us with play, presence, wonder, and the inner child through community-centered experiences out in the world.

Kicking this off on June 20th, we’re heading out to play with a day adventure to the King Kong Waterfall Loop at Huay Tung Tao Lake. ✨
Join us for a playful guided hike designed to reconnect us with nature, wonder, movement, community, and the inner child.

Together we’ll walk through the forest, laugh, explore, swim beneath the waterfall, eat lunch together after the hike at the restaurants on the lake, and spend a little time remembering that life was never meant to be this serious all the time.

The hike is beginner-friendly and fairly easy, around 6–7 km, leading to a beautiful waterfall before looping back past the old king kong hand location.

🌞 Important details about our Field Trip:

📅 Date: June 20th
🕖 Time: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM | we begin walking at 9 am sharp, please arrive a little early, as we cannot wait for late arrivals. 📍 Meeting point: King Kong car park at huay tung tao lake
💰Price: Free event (you are responsible for your 50 baht park entrance fee (cash only) and your lunch

💸 Entrance Fee Details:
• 50 baht foreigner entrance fee
• 20 baht thai entrance fee
• free for those over 60

🥾 What to bring:
• at least 1 liter of water
• snacks or lunch for the waterfall
• comfortable walking shoes
• hat and sunscreen
• bathing suit or swimwear
• towel if desired
💦 yes, you can swim and cool off beneath the waterfall if you’d like!

🚚 Do you need a ride?

There is a songtaew (red truck) option available for 200 baht round trip, if you need transportation, please indicate that on the form. Payment must be made before the event day to confirm your seat on the truck. payment can be made via scan, debit card, credit card, or apple pay. (card payments require an additional 50 baht processing fee.)
if you’d prefer to pay cash, you can meet me between 4:00 - 4:50 pm on any Wednesday at Rare Finds Bookstore & Cafe. (Slots are limited and go to those who pay via scan or online first).
