This is a shared event with Midsouth hiking and Adventures meetup group.

Note: you will need to provide your own kayak.

Please join us on this paddle on the always clear, crisp and beautiful Buffalo river.
Trip length will be 9-10 miles.
For experienced paddlers.
This rather remote section has far less visitors than other segments. As such, it receives less maintenance is more
'rugged'. On past trips we've come across more strainers and downed trees
than typically found on more popular sections.
So we should expect having to deal with more strainers, downed trees and possible overland portages than usual.
Of course, there may none.
You'll need to be a competent, experienced paddler for this section.

We will meet @ 9:00 central at the Metal Ford parking lot right off the Natchez Trace Parkway near
Hohenwald.
(Google maps calls it Metal Ford Hohenwald TN 35.4636, -87.4790)
Drop your boat/gear then park, we will provide our own 11 mile 20 minute one way shuttle.
Bring coolers, water, snacks, sun screen, water cannons, etc.
Recommend no 'flip flop' style open toe shoes.
We'll stop somewhere shady along the river and eat so bring food/snacks.
Water levels after rainfall can negatively impact our experience if the river gets
'flash flooded'. Stay tuned in closer to event. Will cancel for safety if the water is high.
