Beyond ChatGPT & Claude: Exploring Eastern & Western AI
Details

Language: English. In person in Da Nang: on-site seats are limited to 20, first come first served. Just RSVP here on Meetup. We'll share the venue with everyone who RSVPs
If you're only using Claude or OpenAI, you're building with only half the map.
The US still leads at the frontier. China is shipping strong open models, apps that go global from day one, and agents that already do real work. The builders and investors who win the next few years will be the ones who can use both.
This is a 30-minute condensed version of what I teach AI CTOs at elite universities around the world, followed by Q&A. It's also a first look at my interim research and thesis for the sequel to The Ten Commandments of Investing, a Wall Street Journal and USA Today best seller.
The big idea: going global is now a routing problem across models, agents and jurisdictions. In 30 minutes:
- How the East works: why so much enterprise AI has moved onto Chinese models, and why China's apps went global while the West stayed home.
- How the West differs: where US models still lead, and when they're worth paying for.
- What it costs and what it runs: routing each task by capability, not brand, how agents are replacing VA work, my own working stack, and where agent memory still falls short.
- What it means for you: how to go agent-first, whether you're building a product or backing one.
Then live Q&A, and you'll pick one weekly workflow to hand to an agent before you leave.
Bonus: after the talk I'll do a few free 20-minute AI stack reviews for your product or company. First come, first served.
I especially want to meet builders in Vietnam who are building deeply with hybrid stacks, using both Eastern and Western models. If that's you, come and say hello. I may invite you to be interviewed for the book.
Free. Seats are limited, so RSVP now. Can't make it? Get the weekly East/West read here: https://workoptional.ai/subscribe?utm_source=meetup&utm_medium=event&utm_campaign=dad_ewai_261015&utm_content=issue
