Join me for a 7 mile walk starting at Sandling Train Station to Folkestone. The walk will possibly take around 3 hours. We will meet in Sandling Train Station carpark at 11:00. Never heard of Sandling you say? It's a village just outside of Hythe and the best way to get there is via train through Folkestone or Ashford.

I'll be getting the 10:38 train to Sandling via Folkestone Central. You can meet me there, if you want.

The walk goes past Saltwood Castle, a disused victorian railway tunnel, across the downs, then through Sandgate along the coast to Folkestone. Apart from 2 steep climbs (one is very steep) near the start, the route is largely level and easy going but is rated at moderately difficult. It does sprawl across woodlands, farmland (with possible cattle), main roads and normal pedestrian paths. Walking boots are recommended.

Just over halfway we can stop at the Earl of Clarendon Pub (established in 1820). Once in Folkestone we can see where the mood takes or head home.

This event is weather dependent and I will mostly likely cancel and reschedule it if the weather is too bad or unpredictable. I might also cancel and reschedule if there's not a big enough turnout.

I look forward to seeing you on the walk.
